Spanish mackerel is an oily, full-flavoured fish—richer than snapper or barramundi, with a firm texture that holds up well on the BBQ or in a hot pan. The natural oils mean it needs no added fat during cooking.
Cook skin-side down over medium-high heat—the skin crisps well and provides a natural barrier against the heat. Works well with Asian flavours, fresh herbs, or simple salt and lemon. Like all ButcherCrowd seafood, wild-caught and rapidly frozen.
